Kelly & Brian – French Quarter Day Before

April 11, 2012 by Josh Baker

Fading Sunlight, Emerging Love

For our destination weddings we like to schedule time when we can get the couple together on their own, whether it be the evening before or the morning after the big day. I especially like the day before because we get a chance to meet the couple and get comfortable around the camera. This always leads to better photos on the wedding day. For Kelly and Brian, this meant a photowalk/engagement session leaving from the hotel in the French Quarter and looking for a place to utilize texture, lines and colors. We had about an hour in the rehearsal schedule allotted and we made the most of it!

A looping circuit that took us to Chatres Street and a few alleyways, then around to the mirrored monument on the Mississippi, and finishing on the banks with the sparkling bridge in the background. Thanks to Andrew for manning the light on the stick.

More from the wedding to come soon

Josh loves a good adventure and some of his favorite wedding and engagement shoots have involved “getting crazy” or going somewhere special to the couple.

Josh is a Texas native and long time Pflugerville resident. He started his photography business in 2009 and has never looked back. His photo business even allowed him to be daddy-day-care before his two sons reached school age. Over the years his business has expanded to include just about every type of photography including automotive, editorial portraits, corporate events, sports and food. Through it all, he has continued to love wedding photography for genuine moment, the fast pace and the diversity of subjects it offers. Josh is a co-founder of North Austin Pfoutographic Society and a resident instructor at Precision Camera & Video in Austin, Tx.

Audrey & Mack

March 12, 2012 by Josh Baker

First Dance as Husband and Wife

I have a hard time writing this post to describe Audrey & Mack’s wedding in words for those not in attendance. We could all clearly see the love in their eyes for one another. We could hear the pastor’s words in his sermon describing their relationship. We also got to see the largest gag bouquet thrown to the single ladies, all the single ladies. Jazz hands were synonymous with us raising a camera to our eye no matter the situation. We even got a little fist pumping, Arsenio Hall-style during the formals. Each wedding we cover is truly a reflection of the couple and Audrey & Mack are no different. They are a couple deeply in love of all aspects of each other. We hope we were able to capture all of the facets of Audrey & Mack. See Audrey’s Bridal Portraits and their Engagement photos for further proof.

Alyssa’s Bridals

March 8, 2012 by Josh Baker

Sun Soaked Bride

We finally get to share Alyssa’s Bridal Portraits! Been holding off on this post since early January. We ventured to the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio for their varied grounds and scenery. The place was just amazing to photograph at because we never had to move more than 100 yards for all of our photographs. Places like the McNay are great for stimulating the senses with Contemporary Artwork around the grounds.

We have to thank Alyssa and Kevin’s Moms for being great assistants and for Leena at Singar Studios for her excellent makeup work. [Read more…] about Alyssa’s Bridals

Alan & Amy – Gardens at Old Town Helotes Wedding Preview

March 6, 2012 by Josh Baker

The Gazebo at the Gardens of Old Town Helotes

If real estate is all about location, location and location, then modern wedding ceremonies are all about details, details and more details. Amy and Alan‘s wedding is full of personalized details highlighting the whimsy and creative of the hitching couple. From a thumbprinted tree sign-in-book to the wildflowers in colored glass vases the entire venue of The Garden at Old Town Helotes whispered “Amy and Alan”. And of course the Super Mario and Princess Peach topped wedding cake.

We had such a great time joking with the family and photographing during a picture perfect early spring day. We hope your enjoy the preview photographs. Make sure and tell Amy and Alan how beautiful they look in the comment section.

Kevin & Alyssa – Wedding Preview

March 5, 2012 by Josh Baker

Bride and Stained Glass

I have had the distinct pleasure of watching Kevin grow up for his entire life. Alyssa I have known for a shorter period of time but she is no less sweet in my heart. And we had a rollicking time photographing their wedding this weekend. You might remember this couple as one of our underwater engagement sessions from this Summer. While they are laying on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean enjoying warmer waters, we are sharing a preview of their wedding photographs.

The service was held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and the reception at the Red Oak Ballroom. Our second shooter for this and all of March’s weddings is Andrew Fritz. [Read more…] about Kevin & Alyssa – Wedding Preview

Cindy & David’s Green Pastures Wedding First Glance

January 8, 2012 by Josh Baker

A Texas Gal gets married

David and Cindy got married last night at the beautiful Green Pastures. A beautiful celebration and ceremony of two families becoming one family. Laughter, especially Cindy’s, could be heard all night throughout the halls of the historic restaurant. The ceremony itself was a blending of two faith’s with a Jewish Rabbi and a Presbyterian Minister alternating passages and traditions.

Thanks to Daniel at D&H Stage Lighting for providing us with enough lumens to document the ceremony. The bride and bridesmaids look as lovely as they do in part to Sally the Makeup Artist from Aveda.

Anna & Anil – Wedding First Glance

December 12, 2011 by Josh Baker

So much love and energy in the air, not to mention an impending honeymoon departure to New Zealand, that I just had to get a next day preview of my favorites from Anna & Anil’s Wedding Day. We were there for Anil’s Ganesh Puja with a very nice Indian lunch all the way through the bubbles that Anna and Anil ran through with their intrepid guests. We loved the couples speeches. One of our photographers might have cried a little bit (yes, me). The family, the dancing, the hugs, the great details, and outpouring of love from everyone in attendance made for a super special day.

A quick shout out to Kirra and her crew at DNA Events for the any-hour-of-the-day updates and information. And we do have photographic proof of your dancing, uh, skills.

The second big thanks goes to Leena Bajaj at Singar Studios for her Henna detail work, 2! Bridal looks and for the fact that she brought a double sided reflector to the ceremony. Our photographer friends will appreciate that nugget.

Here is my stronger suit, storytelling with photos from the beginning to the end. [Read more…] about Anna & Anil – Wedding First Glance
