Matt and Allison come to us via our shared time with Rogue Running. We have photographed them running in freezing cold hail, and on sunny hillsides sprinting through Austin. After watching their spark develop we were excited to be called upon to photograph the full flame of their DIY hill country wedding at the beautiful Pecan Springs Ranch.
A Hill Country Wedding at Pecan Springs Ranch
Our first time at Pecan Springs Ranch. The property is beautiful and there are many different vignettes and scenes the ranch offers. From lake side sunsets to the wildflower fields and historic barns and buildings in between, it was truly a pleasure to photograph.
Allison’s family really came together on the DIY wedding decorations to decorate the reception room. The groom’s cake had the guests doing strange dog barking noises (Georgia Bulldogs apparently). Allison’s side called out a more traditional Hook’em chant.
The highlight of the evening for us the photographers was the spectacular sunset that came out for a brief moment. We hard charged the newlyweds out into the field to get an epic wedding photo that I hope will hang in their home soon.
Thanks to the newlyweds for hosting us with grace and kindness. We are excited for your speedy adventures in love to come.
This landscape makes for the perfect decorations. Pecan and oak trees cover the property, as you might guess from the name. The outdoor ceremony was simple and beautiful. As a bonus, it is easy clean up!
