Yesterday the post went up from McMurtrie Farms, “Hey Josh, Gazebo is going to be iced over, want to come over and shoot?”
I love open ended questions like this because my GT/OM/DI mind kick in and start problem solving. Ok, well, sometime I create problems to solve on top of that.
Need a model, facebook post, done. Chelsey, the bravest of the brave!
Need an idea, oh, well, er, model is red headed and the gazebo is iced over. The theme then is “Fire and Ice”.
Need props, florist sends a text, I just got some Fire and Ice roses in, want to use them? uh, yeah! Thanks Flower Child Design
Need ice!, Louis McMurtrie is out all night sprinkling the Gazebo with water playing Ice Man. (chomp!) We have a winter wonderland.
Need light modifiers, I gelled out my big light orange and the rest real blue for contrast. All hard lights.
Need fire, coffee cup filled with gasoline. Kids, don’t try this at home. Flames!
18 hours later and we are done.
Chelsey really knocked it out of the park here, kudos to her.
Thanks for Chelsea at McMurtrie Farms, she is great to work with and keeps me on my toes. Book her for your corporate or wedding event.
The mad florists of Pflugerville, Flower Child Design, with pitch perfect flower props, hit them up for all your floral needs.
Meanwhile, I still smell of smoke….

His photo business even allowed him to be daddy-day-care before his two sons reached school age. Over the years his business has expanded to include just about every type of photography including automotive, editorial portraits, corporate events, sports and food.
