Continuing with our Creative Collaboration, Austin Beauty on the Go, McMurtrie Farms, Flower Child Design and our model Courtney set out to create a Nature Spirit canvas. A fairy like being that is one with nature, smelling the flowers, at home in the water, taking strength from the suns power. Wait, that last part is from Superman, but you get the point.
Lecia took care of the hair, makeup and paint with aplomb. From blank canvas to finished supermodel in about 3.5 hours, with crazy detail. I am consistently impressed by her work.
Chelsea from McMurtrie Farms is our ever gracious host, feeding us sugary treats and taking the behind the scenes photos
Beau and Louis from Flower Child supplied us with an assortment of multi-hued flower petals to create details with.
Kristie from Blushing Veil Events provided me with overall style design and a watchful eye during the shoot.
Thanks to everyone for helping to make this shoot happen, the images are a reflection of the hard work yall put into this.
A bit of info for the photographers out there, I mainly used an AlienBee 800 into a silver 22 inch Beauty Dish to provide a narrower, punchier beam of light than a softbox provides. I strived to keep the light on Courtney’s upper half without a lot of spill onto the nature setting. My only problem is that the beauty dish is almost too efficient at times, especially in tight spaces where I can’t back the light up. I was at 1/16 or 1/32 most of the day to maintain balance with the ambient. Late in the day I switched up to a speedlight in a 24 inch lastolite EzyBox to better work with ambient that was in the 800 to 1600 iso range.
Now that the credits and info is out of the way, onto more photos:

Thanks again to everyone!
