Took the family out to San Jose to visit the newest addition of our brood. Spent a week in San Jose with day trips to Santa Cruz and San Francisco. The low humidity and lower temperatures made for an excellent summer getaway for these Texans. Didn’t spend a whole lot of time making pictures outside of babies doing cute things. But we did manage a few.
Our first stop was an Egpyptian Museum in San Jose. Not sure why it was there, but I suspect there were a few religious undertones. They did have beautifully crafted buildings to admire and flowers all around.

On Friday we headed to Santa Cruz to watch the surfers, and eat a bread bowl of clam chowder on the pier. Bummed that we missed the Classic Car show taking place the next day, but lots of Woodies were in town early to give the town that classic feel.

The best picture taking day we had was in San Francisco with just my niece and I. Traveled into Muir Woods and Golden Gate Park with a stop on Pier 39. High of 60 as well. Really great weather. My favorite line about San Fran is “the coldest winter of my life was the summer I spent in San Francisco”. Don’t know who said it, but I appreciate the wit.

Apparently one of the redwoods had crashed across the main path in Muir Woods about 2 weeks before we got there. I can’t imagine what that experience would be like.

Enjoy the second post in a row of non-people pictures. We will get that corrected soon. 🙂
