A beautiful bride, a hansom groom and a magical night at the Phoenix Ballroom in Waco.
Andrew is a wedding photographer that loves a good adventure.
We can get used to the idea of Brunch Weddings. Emily & Joey tied the knot and took the plunge at Mercury Hall and then Barton Springs, literally took the plunge! (scroll down to the bottom if you don’t believe us). The wedding was full of Austin flavor. Pink flamingos surrounded and attacked the couple throughout the day. Hops & Grain and Austin Beerworks beer was there to keep everyone nice and cool along with many mimosas. Tiny Pies with their big bursts of flavor in tiny packaging. The secluded and chic Mercury Hall provided the backdrop to the days festivities. And pancakes! More weddings definitely need to have pancakes for brunch.
And yes, after the wedding we had a bit more Austin fun. We all headed over to Barton Springs where we had a bouquet toss with complete strangers and then Emily & Joey leaped hand in hand in into the icy waters of Barton Springs in front of clapping and cheering friends, family and well-wishing strangers.
Congratulations to Emily & Joey and all their Austin vibes!
Austin area weather has been difficult of late, but sometimes that works in your favor. Rachael and Kevin planned to have their wedding on TerrAdorna’s wonderful new patio. A good plan and as it turned out the line of thunderstorms was timed perfectly, arriving just after the ceremony and ending in time for one of the most spectacular sunsets that Josh or I have ever seen. The sunset just kept going and going. Add a great wedding crowd, a double rainbow and a ton of other fun stuff, and it was all around a great event.
We’ve been looking forward to photographing a real wedding at TerrAdorna, and the venue did not disappoint.

We always love it when we are able to photograph a couple in a special place. In Andrea and Keith’s case, that was Keith’s family equestrian center, County Line in Pflugerville. He grew up there and it had obvious significance to him. This was one of those shoots that got better and better as it went on. We started with clear skies and had some fun with a few settings around the grounds. As the sun approached the horizon, thunderstorms started to build to the south of us, boiling up into the sunset. Things got a little surreal.
Great couple. Great location. Great weather.
We pride ourselves on making great photos under any conditions (see the Anytime Light Workshop if you want to learn how), but sometimes nature cooperates and we are able to raise the bar in a way that no amount of equipment or skill can match. This was one of those situations.
Part 2 of Kaitlyn’s senior portraits was a few weeks in arriving, weather and all being a question. Kaitlyn has been riding horses her whole life so we were thrilled that we could bring that aspect of her life into her senior portraits. Of course we took pretty shots (queue the bluebonnets and sunset), but we also wanted to highlight the more exciting aspects of riding a thoroughbred horse. What better way to do that than to add a little rain to the mix (and never mind the fact that her horse is named Rain too).
This time we took the photo’s at her mother’s riding school, Conner Combined Training in Liberty Hill. Adrian with Revelry Beauty was there once again adding the finishing touches to Kaitlyn’s hair and makeup.
Exciting, yes? We think so.
We’ve been waiting excitedly for the spring edition of Bliss Bridal Magazine to hit the shelves so we could share some of our photos from the cover shoot. The shoot was a fun mix of country details with a sprinkling of city sophistication.
