Jessica’s and Mark’s Ranch Austin wedding video teaser is up! Ranch Austin is a great outdoor wedding venue, and it made the perfect setting for Jessica’s and Mark’s Driftwood wedding. An Irish lass married an Irish boy and they have a good old Texas style party. There was even a Imperial March “bow down to the bride” dance during the reception. We finished the night off with Jessica and Mark and their friends on 6th street for a little after party.
Alex and Taylor had a very chill wedding day at Stonehouse Villa in Dripping Springs, Texas. There isn’t much better than rolling Texas hills and a beautiful big sunset… Except experiencing it with your new wife.
See their Joshua Tree National Park Adventure Engagement from October.

A Memory Lane Wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas
Stephanie and Daniel got married on a uncharacteristically warm (like high 80s) November day at the lovely Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs, Texas. After a blue sky first look and ceremony the reception kicked off with a treat. They had a live band: Plush Party Band with some sing along (turns out Daniel can sing) and crowd surfing. Of course, if you don’t like the weather in Texas, just wait a few minutes. By their sparkler exit, the temp had dropped into the 40s which made for a cozy exit.
You may remember Daniel and Stephanie from their Kyle Texas Engagement.

The Wedding Ceremony
Abby & James were married at Boulder Springs outside New Braunfels, Texas. The heat of the day didn’t slow down the dancing, the fun or the merriment. A detail filled reception hall was put together with a rustic antler motif, there was even a salsa bar! There were just a ton of little touches that reflected the couples decisions and commitment to each other. And then the father-daughter and mother-son dances happened and the flood gates of tears opened up. Just a touching evening all around.
You might remember Kristina & Britt from their engagement session session where Josh got soaked stepping too deep in a lake. And with Austin’s weather this spring threatening rain everyday we lucked out for the wedding ceremony with a calm day and a wonderful sunset (our favorite). Everyone in attendance enjoyed the wonderful views of Lake Travis at Vintage Villas and we all managed to stay dry for the wedding. The weather gods appeased, we were treated to a night of heart rending toasts, ecstatic dancing and a blending of families and cultures. The last part is the aspect of weddings that we feel are the most compelling. Families coming together to witness and share in the love of an union such as Britt & Kristina.
We have been eagerly anticipating Joseph and Sara’s wedding. Their Hill Country Engagement shoot was fun, relaxed, and resulted in some of our favorite images (and moments) from last year. Unsurprisingly their wedding had the same vibe, a small ceremony on the patio over the lake surrounded by family and friends, some tasty BBQ (mmm… Sticky Bones…), a little dancing and some chilling by the lake (thanks to a great planner: Karla McNeil). Really, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect day for Joseph and Sara’s wedding.
Stay tuned for a coming soon video from their wedding day. For now, enjoy the pictures and congratulate the couple.
Kristen & Sam kicked off our first wedding of 2016 with a big bash at the elegant Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin. Their wedding certainly set the bar for the rest of the weddings to come this year. Kristen is low key and up for whatever photo ideas we had, and Sam just made us laugh the whole day. Perfect combination of fun, silly, and mad/made for each other. During the first look Sam pulled out his cellphone to throw Kristen off her romantic game. I started to shout to him that Kristen was coming through the door, then realized he was trying to prank her. He made up for it for weeping a bit at how beautiful Kristen looked in her wedding gown. Andrew made sure to capture it from across the sheet in the parking garage.
We had a great gang of vendors to work with, and one unique vendor type that we haven’t seen at a wedding yet. Personalized poems for wedding guests from Typewriter Rodeo, what a cool idea!

Congrats to Kristen & Sam, a Match made in Austin, with adventures in store to carry them far and wide!
Some weddings have elaborate decorations, food, and proceedings. Andrea and Keith’s had all those things, but they had something you can’t hire. It was the sort of wedding where my face was sore because I couldn’t help but smile the entire time. You could feel the happiness radiating from them as a physical warmth. When the DJ played Kermit the Frog’s “The Rainbow Connection” for Keith and his mother and then they called Andrea and their son over, it got hard to take pictures. (No really, I wasn’t crying. I just had something in my eye… both of them…)
Finally a wedding Dustin couldn’t sweat at. Dustin is a former Austinite now living in Denverite wedding cinematographer. He joked during the reception that in the near freezing temps of his own wedding he finally wouldn’t sweat through his shirt. Funny guy. No really, he laughs and makes everyone around him laugh most often including Rachael his now wife.
The venue, Meadow Creek B&B, provided a gorgeous snow filled meadow for the ceremony and a cozy lodge for the reception. There was even amazing on location wood fired pizza food trailer, Basic Kneads Wood Fired pizza.
A few of the first for us as we are wont to describe. First wedding we have photographed in Colorado, who is going to be our second? First wedding where I used a white balance over 100,000 Kelvin, photographers, you know what I am saying. First wedding that altitude became a problem. Pine Colorado is near 8,000 feet in elevation.
So excited for the lives that Rachael & Dustin will be living. Y’all make a fantastic couple! Thanks for having us!
Care Bear Attack! Because really, what is scarier than Share Bear coming after the wedding party to rain down hugs and warmth. Garrett is a bit of prankster and wanted to have dinosaur’s or king kong chasing the bridal party. We had to raise his joke one more level and go full Ghostbuster style in photoshopping in the Care Bears.
Julie, Garrett and their families went over the top DIY on the decor for the wedding, even going as far as making polished wood stands for the floral vases. Friends and family came and pitched in to help setup and break down the venue as fast as any wedding we have seen. Warmed our heart to see the social fabric wrapped so tight around Julie & Garrett.
Thanks to the Hotel Alsace for hosting us on a great fall Saturday.
Fun Fun Fun Fest happened this past weekend in Austin, but I don’t think anyone had more fun fun fun than Angela & Arron at their wedding. Every photo we took had either Angela smiling, Arron laughing, Angela making a silly face or Arron trying to make Angela laugh some more. Just infectious laughter throughout the evening. Seriouly, watch the trailer we made for their wedding film and try to find a face that isn’t one step from hypoxic laughter.

No pressure for this wedding, the groom Antonio is also a photographer and he is up for anything. The bride, Michelle, is the little sister of one of our running friends. The expectations are always high of course, but I would be lying if I wasn’t a bit nervous heading into this fall Saturday. Thankfully we had the team from Life Styled Events to keep the day running smooth.
The ceremony at St. Elizabeth of Hungary started the day off with a dual language service. Beautiful stained glass adorned the chapel with vignettes of the other area Catholic Churches, a nice inclusive touch. From the church it was off to one of favorite venues, Lone Oak Barn in Round Rock, where the party really got started.
A few of the brushstrokes from the reception that stood out to me: A fun photobooth, a dad’s toast that veered into Cajun, the groom and his mother dance that left my eyes a little watery, and a couple madly in love. Of course the cowbell to ring for a kiss was the evening’s favorite game to play anytime Antonio and Michelle were more than 5 feet away from each other.
Congratulations to Antonio & Michelle!
We are so thrilled to be sharing the first true Waco Wedding we have covered with both stills and motion. AJ & Jennifer are the happy couple that are the stars of this show from the Phoenix Ballroom. The day contained many firsts for us not the least of which is that Jennifer is an adventuresome bride and climbed into the wrestling ring outside her hotel. She felled all comers to take the Champion Belt, quite a feat in a wedding dress. Certainly our first wrestling champ bride. The second first is a raise the shoe game that I have never seen before. Kind of like the Dating Game but with better sartorial choices.
The final first is hard to put into words, but the brother of the bride came out in a dress for the dollar dance and proceeded to reenact the dance scene from Dirty Dancing with the best man. The dollars went to not dance with him!
We had a great time in Waco, let’s do it again sometime.
Make sure and watch the wedding trailer below, leave a happy comment for AJ & Jennifer!
Dream Austin Wedding. Let’s start with the bride, Vanessa. Look at every photograph she is in and you will see relaxed, happy, effervescent, and in love with Noah. And those are just the ones in this post. We literally have 100’s of photos of Vanessa laughing, giggling and telling stories with her bridesmaids and family. A perfect photogenic bride. And then there is Noah, the man behind the scenes making every thing happen. Perhaps the most involved groom we have come across in planning and that’s a great thing. What woman doesn’t want a husband that is involved and cares about the outcome of their life events. Good on you, Noah.
Secondly, the friends and family that came out to share their love for the wedded couple. From all over the States and even a kilted man from Scotland, yes the accent was killer. The family that surround Noah & Vanessa and made us feel like a part of the family too. Thank you for the kindness.
Finally, let’s talk about the amazing vendors that made the day go smoothly and awesomely. Any event would do well to just copy and paste this vendor list. A guaranteed good time will follow. See what we mean by Dream Austin Wedding?

Noah & Vanessa, thanks for having a part of your big day, congratulations!
Adi gets Katie. Katie with her dreams and quirks and details. Adi smiles, laughs, pulls her in close and off they go on an adventure. Makes our hearts warm to see couples so in tune with each other, on the the same wavelength. We met Katie and Adi two years ago at the rehearsal dinner for Ashley & Andrew and we had a pretty good idea then that this was a couple that would endure. Katie and I bonded over comic books and nerdy things almost instantly and we are proud to be her photographer.
Our general photographic stance for their Beverly Hills wedding was to photograph Katie & Adi as if they were movie stars and we were the paparazzi following them about. The Beverly Hills Four Seasons is an tres chic venue for such stalking. The culmination of this approach is the 15 minutes we were allowed to photograph atop the hotel on their helipad with panoramic views of Los Angeles. Coolest. Setting. Ever. I mean seriously, a helipad, always a first at every wedding!
The details were great, the ceremony was great, the band was great. And still, those all paled to the light that shines between Katie & Adi. He is a prince and she is a princess in their fairy tale. Not in the sappy way either, but in the fairy tale where they have each other’s back and with each other can take on any challenge in the world.
Special thanks to Tessa Lyn Events for running the day!
