Daniel and Stephanie: Memory Lane Event Center Wedding in Dripping Springs

Epic Frist Look Portrait, Wedding, Memory Lane, Dripping Springs

Stephanie and Daniel got married on a uncharacteristically warm (like high 80s) November day at the lovely Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs, Texas. After a blue sky first look and ceremony the reception kicked off with a treat. They had a live band: Plush Party Band with some sing along (turns out Daniel can sing) and crowd surfing. Of course, if you don’t like the weather in Texas, just wait a few minutes. By their sparkler exit, the temp had dropped into the 40s which made for a cozy exit.

You may remember Daniel and Stephanie from their Kyle Texas Engagement.

Jonathan and Lindsay: A DIY Vintage Prospect House Wedding in Dripping Springs

Jonathan and Lindsay - Prospect House - DIY Wedding - 061

I’ve known Jonathan for a long while through the swing dance scene and later met Lindsay the same way. I’ve often found them efficiently making things “just work” as a part of Austin’s booming dance scene. They are a couple that make a great team and are also really cute together.

Given how their engagement session went, I wasn’t surprised when their wedding was heaps of fun too. Lindsay and Jonathan applied their dance scene skills to their wedding and made it work flawlessly. They DIY’ed all their decorations to turn Prospect House into a setting that perfectly reflected their playful sense of style. Lindsay made hundreds of gorgeous paper flowers, cute place settings for each guest,  and a lot of nice small touches to help the guests enjoy the wedding.

Congratulations Jonathan and Lindsay!  Thanks for having us as your photographers.

Clay at UT Tower

Clay: Dripping Springs Senior Portraits

ClaySocial#-3

City to Country, Business to Golf to Farm. Clay is a young modern man with contrasts and facets in his life. Our Senior Portrait Experience started at the UT McCombs School of Business where Clay will be attending in the fall. Risky Business look? We think so too. From there we headed to Grey Rock GC to photograph Clay in his other passion, golf. We set up our lights to bring a ESPN the Magazine look to the photographs. We ended the day at his home in Dripping Springs to show off the softer side of his nature utilizing the beautiful natural light of the Texas evening.

A big Hook’Em to Clay and thanks for having us photograph your passions

Jared & Megan: Inn at Wild Rose Hall Wedding in Dripping Springs

CarsonSocial#-1

Happy Sunday Wedding Dance Party. Jared and Megan’s wedding was the perfect expression of two fabulous people coming together as one. The positive energy, the lightness in the mood, the smiles on guests faces are all the aspects that I will take away from this wedding. The venue, http://www.theinnatwildrosehall.com/, provided a fantastic backdrop to the day with the little touches here and there, the nooks and quirks that provided the Austin in the Hill Country vibe. The day went off without a hitch thanks to the planning and preparation of 11:11 Events. The floral designs from Sixpence Floral tied in so well to the theme and feel of the day.

Let’s talk about some of the firsts as we like to do because we believe every wedding has something we have never seen before. This was the first and probably only wedding in the near future that we photographed using the medium format Pentax 645z. The files took a bit longer to process but wow the detail in the photographs is just astounding. This was important to us because Jared’s father is a photographer from Georgia and I wanted to have something special for their day as a nod to his efforts.

Our favorite little moment occured when a three old guests took the mic during the reception and belted out Let It Go from Frozen. The entire crowd cheered her on, pretty neat few minutes.

Make sure and scroll to the bottom to see what our Coming Soon trailer for their wedding film and get a sense of what all the dancing was like!

A Gilded Affair: Style Shoot for Bliss Bridal Magazine in Austin

GildedSocial#-245

Excited to be sharing one of our feature that is in the summer 2014 issue of Bliss Bridal Magazine that we photographed and filmed for the talented team at A Gilded Affair Event and Floral. The theme was timeless elegance and easy to see all the steps each of the vendors took to make the effortless looking glamour happen. From the award winning cake from Rosemary Galpin to the high flying entertainment of Kari Lehman and onto the scrumptous food of Southerns Fine Dining we couldn’t have asked for a better team of vendors. Our bride and groom, Brianna and Lee, were styled by the team at Bettie Bangs Salon and Brianna’s dress is from Signature Bridal Salon. The venue at Ma Maison is a new wonder in the Austin Wedding venue space with a feel and style unlike any other. Little touches were filled in with the iron works from Mancino Rentals and the lighting and sounds of Jeff Hudson from Spacecraft Entertainment.

Take a look at the video below to see more of the day in action and scroll down for more photos

Audrey: Senior Portraits and Film in Austin

AudreySocial#-38

Super excited to share our 2nd Senior Film, this time starring Audrey a soon to be class of 2014 graduate from Dripping Springs High school. Watch the video below to get the story told from Audrey’s point of view. Scroll down to see more of her fun-loving photographs. Had a great time capturing all of these elements of Audrey because she is sweet and funny and never makes the same facial expression twice! Just a range of emotions and intelligence is what we took away from our time with Audrey.

Kiara: Dripping Springs Senior Portraits

Dripping Springs Senior Portraits #-6

Kiara is the second of our Class of 2014 Senior from Dripping Springs. We have been planning her shoot for a few years now it seems and her happiness and personality is on full display here. The sunflower setting is in her own backyard and we can’t tell which are sunnier, the flowers or her smile! Then we headed over to old town Dripping Springs at Mercer Street and had a blast shooting around the old building and setting sun.

Make sure and send us an email at josh@azulox.com if you are interested in having AzulOx take your senior portrats!

Zach: Dripping Springs Senior Portraits

Dripping Springs Senior Portraits #-9

Meet Zach, a defensive end for the Dripping Springs Tigers and a Senior in the Class of 2014. Zach plans to attend the University of Texas and study business. We applaud both of those choices (Hook’Em!). If that doesn’t work out, I think Zach could also be a live action Ken doll. Had a great time shooting around Mercer Street in old Dripping Springs, cool textures and great sunlight filtering through. We can’t wait to get back there and shoot some more. We also might have run onto the football field to get a few “Friday Night Lights” style shots with Zach’s Letterman Jacket. Great young man to work with, easy going nature and up for all of our ideas. Tomorrow we will share the other half to this shoot starring Kiara!

Joe & Misti: Engagements at Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza

JoeMistyEngageBlog#-7

Special locations add another dimension to environmental portrait photography. Joe & Misti decided on using the picturesque area around the horse farm that they volunteer at on weekends near Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza and the Jester King Brewery. We could feel the excitement that Joe & Misti felt for this place that is close to their hearts and that shows through in the photographs. The positive feedback of a sense of place combined with the way Joe looks at Misti’s eye made for a memorable engagement session. And now we want to go back and taste the pizza at Stanley’s!

Our horse model for the day was a nice blue-eyed paint that had never seen green grass before in it’s entire life (sarcasm intended). Everytime we got the shot framed, and the light just right down went the horses head for bite of delicious grass. We all laughed, got the photographs that we could and then moved on the scenic barn and little touches that Stanley’s has to offer. I loved the blue sunflower gate and the way the setting sun was streaming through. The Airstream your see in the background is not just decoration but also the restrooms for the clientele. The rustic hill country vibe suited this couple so much, it is hard to believe they are getting married on the black sand beaches of Hawaii. Yes I asked, no they won’t take me with them!

Thanks to Misti & Joe for sharing their special place with us!

Bella by Sara Style Shoot: Kiara & Bouquets

Kiara at Sunset

We had the privelege of working with Bella by Sara Event Floral Design on a styled bridal shoot displaying a few of their new bouquet ideas. Leena with Singar Studios provided the hair and makeup for our bride for the day, Kiara, at a private residence in Dripping Springs. More of these photos will be used in Bella by Sara’s website and marketing in 2013, but we had to show off a couple of these today! Which bouquet is your favorite?

Katha: Underwater Portraits

A Songwriter’s Dream

Continuing in our underwater portrait adventures, we went a bit more thematic this time around as we tested the pool that I hope to use for future shoots. The theme was a songwriter’s dream. Our lovely model Katha, moonlighting here as our subject is a singer songwriter in the real world. We wanted to take the dreaminess of underwater photos and add them to her dreams as a songwriter. You can see the empty music pages and the floating pen in parts of these shots. We didn’t take into account how quickly paper will disintegrate in water, next time we will try to use papyrus. Once we blew through the small amount of music paper, we shifted into straight underwater portraits.

Bill & Dana: Inn at Wild Rose Hall Wedding

The Happy Couple at Sunset

I have the greatest job in the world. Saturday we got to photograph our great friends Bill & Dana get married at the Inn at Wild Rose Hall. I have known Bill since my freshman year of college where we were room mates at Madison House at UT. The RA’s felt sorry for me, but we became lifelong friends anyhow. Getting to know Dana over the last few years has been a privilege as she is a wonderful all around gal always ready with a quick infectious smile and a strong sense of adventure. We played up their sense of adventure in their Indiana Jones-themed engagement photos, and her great smile in her bridal portraits.

Enough about how awesome this couple is individually, the great part is how well they come together. They love to laugh and be silly, have traveled the world together, and as a true testament they have great friends surrounding them!
