Jonathan and Lindsay: A DIY Vintage Prospect House Wedding in Dripping Springs

Jonathan and Lindsay - Prospect House - DIY Wedding - 061

I’ve known Jonathan for a long while through the swing dance scene and later met Lindsay the same way. I’ve often found them efficiently making things “just work” as a part of Austin’s booming dance scene. They are a couple that make a great team and are also really cute together.

Given how their engagement session went, I wasn’t surprised when their wedding was heaps of fun too. Lindsay and Jonathan applied their dance scene skills to their wedding and made it work flawlessly. They DIY’ed all their decorations to turn Prospect House into a setting that perfectly reflected their playful sense of style. Lindsay made hundreds of gorgeous paper flowers, cute place settings for each guest,  and a lot of nice small touches to help the guests enjoy the wedding.

Congratulations Jonathan and Lindsay!  Thanks for having us as your photographers.

Emily & Nathaniel: Star Hill Ranch

Streamer Exit

What a fantastic wedding to have the privilege of covering on a crisp October day at the beautiful Star Hill Ranch venue with two people clearly in love with each other. Emily & Nathaniel lit up the room when they look at each and smiles, hugs and kisses were shared throughout the evening. The details and small touches were enough to write an entire post about in themselves because they were done well and because they came from the heart. The whole procession was a joy to photography. So many fun aspects to highlight! From the 1970 VW Bug, named Doug, as the getaway car to the plethora of sunflowers. The pumpkins and fall leaves provided a great backdrop for an image with the wedding bands. The mariachi band was a surprise and a hit with all the out-of-towners, welcome to Texas! A few other firsts for us to cover at a wedding: Gangnam Style played at the reception, and the garter wrapped around a disc golf putter for the garter toss.

Anna & Anil – Wedding First Glance

So much love and energy in the air, not to mention an impending honeymoon departure to New Zealand, that I just had to get a next day preview of my favorites from Anna & Anil’s Wedding Day. We were there for Anil’s Ganesh Puja with a very nice Indian lunch all the way through the bubbles that Anna and Anil ran through with their intrepid guests. We loved the couples speeches. One of our photographers might have cried a little bit (yes, me). The family, the dancing, the hugs, the great details, and outpouring of love from everyone in attendance made for a super special day.

A quick shout out to Kirra and her crew at DNA Events for the any-hour-of-the-day updates and information. And we do have photographic proof of your dancing, uh, skills.

The second big thanks goes to Leena Bajaj at Singar Studios for her Henna detail work, 2! Bridal looks and for the fact that she brought a double sided reflector to the ceremony. Our photographer friends will appreciate that nugget.

Here is my stronger suit, storytelling with photos from the beginning to the end.Continue reading

Jeff & Cheri’s Wedding – The Details Sneaks – Austin, Texas

The Chapel Dulcinea

Working through the images from the Wedding of Jeff and Cheri this past Sunday, and I was intrigued by the amount of detail and planning that Cheri pulled into this Wedding. Little touches here and there, especially the purple glove that started it all. You will have to ask her about that. So in the spirit of details, this post will have no faces but lots of little touches to convey a larger message.
